Reno-Tahoe Oyssey Relay Run Adventure has three race options, the original 178-mile course, Capital Odyssey, a 63 mile relay run on Saturday, June 4 and the Comstock Odyssey, a 29 mile relay also on June 4.
Reno-Tahoe Odyssey (June 3-4)
It’s unlike anything you’ll experience, lots of fun, and provides an overwhelming feeling of accomplishment and teamwork. Ideally suited for 12-person teams, runners cover a 178-mile course that is divided into 36 legs of varying lengths and difficulty. Sound impossible? Not when there are hundreds of people cheering for you along the way! The 11th annual Reno Tahoe Oydssey starts in downtown Reno on May 29 and travels along the Truckee River, up the Sierra Nevada range, along the shores of Lake Tahoe; through the Northern Nevada high desert of Virginia City, before returning to Reno. Limited to 250 teams and there are staggered starts.
Capital Odyssey Relay (June 4)
Formerly known as the RTO One, this one day Odyssey will join the regular Reno-Tahoe Odyssey Relay that will already be in progress for the last 12 legs of the regular RTO course. The relay is from Carson City (Nevada’s Capital) to Reno. Teams will be running Legs 25-36, equating to approximately 63 miles. Start time will be early Saturday morning from approximately 3:30am-7:00am.
Comstock Odyssey Relay (June 4)
This race provides another option for teams that wish to run a shorter relay. The course starts in Virginia City, home of the famous Comstock Load, and goes to Reno. It’s part of the regular Reno-Tahoe Odssey route and includes legs 31-36, with is approximately 29 miles. Start times will be Saturday morning from approximately 5:30am-9:00am.
